Every so often you encounter a composer who manages to draw you into a sound world that is distinctly their own. From the sumptuous satisfaction of Goulet’s Symphonic Chocolates to Ligeti’s titanic Violin Concerto to the plumbing of the emotional depths of Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6, this concert gives us a glimpse into the sound worlds of three extraordinary composers, and all the treasures, surprises, and delights found therein.
