Share the Music

In 2016, the Kingston Symphony launched a new outreach program called Share the Music. Share the Music provides children, who otherwise could not afford it, the opportunity to attend a Kingston Symphony family concert. Together with their families, the children participate in a live performance, discover the instruments that make up an orchestra, and interact with professional musicians. By providing complimentary tickets to these families, we are able to reach and engage a large cross-section of youth in our community who normally would not be able to participate in such an initiative.

In the Community

The Kingston Symphony is proud to partner with various organizations in Kingston such as Sistema Kingston. In 2022-2023, over 500 tickets were provided to children and their families who would benefit from participating in our Share the Music program.

The Kingston Symphony is extremely proud of its contribution to the cultural life of Kingston through its concerts as well as through its education and outreach initiatives. We strive to provide all of our musicians with opportunities to play wonderful music and to provide as many members of our community as possible with an opportunity to hear it and share in an exceptional cultural experience. Our ideal is that every Kingston resident can experience a Kingston Symphony concert regardless of their age, health, family status, or income. We want to make classical music accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds and for as many people as possible to be able to hear a live musical performance and experience the thrill of being in the concert hall.

Our Supporters

Thank you to the Davies Charitable Foundation, Anna & Edward C. Churchill Foundation, and the Rotary Club of Cataraqui-Kingston for their generous support of the Kingston Symphony’s Share the Music program in 2022-2023. During this season, 513 tickets were provided to children and youth to attend our family concerts.
