Music fills the air at local retirement homes
In partnership with Concerts in Care Ontario, the Kingston Symphony's Harmony at Home program brings exceptional live performances to retirement residences and care communities, where access to high quality cultural experiences can often be limited. These concerts create meaningful opportunities for residents to experience the joy of live music in a familiar and welcoming setting, fostering connection, sparking memories, and enriching daily life.
Recent Harmony at Home performances this month have included concerts by Triola (Gisele Szczesniak, Clare Fagan, and Eileen Beaudette) at Normandy Retirement Living, Limestone Trio (Lisa Draper, Danielle Lennon, and Jeff Hamacher) at Cataraqui Heights Retirement and we are looking forward to having Andrew Dicker, Kiri-Christina Fill, and Jeff Hamacher perform at Kingsbridge Retirement Community next week.
By bringing professional musicians directly into retirement and long-term care homes in our community, Harmony at Home helps ensure that the transformative power of live performance is accessible to everyone, regardless of mobility or circumstance. We are proud to expand access to the performing arts while strengthening connections through the shared experience of music. We thank the Community Foundation for Kingston & Area, Anna & Edward C. Churchill Foundation, and our partners for their support. See the impact of bringing music to residents by clicking the video below.
