The Future of Orchestral Music
"Harmon in Space has given us ample opportunity to watch "our friends" at the Kingston Symphony and have talks about the instruments and learn about the orchestra as a whole. My students are not only in love with our furry friend Harmon, but every single musician that played a part." ~Jaclyn, Elementary School Teacher
"The "Symphonic Speedruns" event was an absolutely amazing experience…The orchestra did a bang-up job, the staff were all friendly, the speedrunners were absolutely awesome, and the appearance of Lena Raine and Kristofer Maddigan was an unexpected surprise I won't soon forget." ~Xavier, Audience Member
The Kingston Symphony’s programming is guided by values of exploration, innovation, and growth. We regularly undertake new and creative projects, from the launch of our educational webseries “Harmon in Space”, to the premiere of the world’s first ever Symphonic Speedruns concert. We are a proud supporter of Canadian musicians and composers, and frequently premiere and commission new works. In addition, the Kingston Symphony has been a participant in Tapestry Opera’s Women in Musical Leadership program since 2019, providing mentorship and performance opportunities for women and non-binary conductors beginning their careers.
