President’s Report

Once again, I sit here in disbelief that another year has already passed. 2022 has seen us transition out of pandemic restrictions and try to get back to “normal”.

I hope all of you were able to take advantage of this time to catch up with family and friends and accomplish any other life events you needed to check off.

We have returned to in-person concerts and the attendance has been strong and well received. Our Music Director and the orchestra have worked tirelessly hard and are diligent in ensuring they deliver the programs at the highest level that we have all become accustomed to.

Unfortunately, our subscriptions are down, which speaks to the uncertainty around this pandemic transition and people’s apprehension towards in person events. However, our donations are up and those that are attending both in person and online are being as generous as they can be.

In this new world we continue our work into the digital world and have seen the second series of Harmon in Space! Kudos yet again to Evan Mitchell, our Music Director, for his efforts and initiatives in this regard.

The Board of Directors has had some down time so to speak. With things always being expertly managed and handled by our tireless General Manager Andrea Haughton, there were not many items requiring Board attention. We have had some new faces join as well this year, and we look forward to working together to get back to our regular meetings, committee work and forwarding the initiatives of the KSA and its constituent groups.

Speaking of which all our constituent groups have survived and are thriving now and we look forward to their continued successes.

Our volunteer organization and its members continue to be devout and undaunted by whatever comes their way. With the return of the in-person Book Fair, Vinyl Records Sale, and now All Things Christmas, Gifts & Art sale, they are working their way back to achieving the record setting fundraising goals they have spoiled us with in years past.

I will keep this briefer than in years passed and say I wish all of you good health, prosperity and success, whatever form that takes for each of you. I am always humbled and grateful for the work and efforts of all who make up the KSA, and of course all those who continue to support the arts in our community and our organization. Without your commitment we would not be able to do what we  do or be here today and after all these years.

All the best for a safe and happy holiday season and I look forward to seeing you  at our upcoming concerts!
